What we do

We lost our house on the Texas coast in Hurricane Ike. We had only lived there three months when disaster struck. We were devastated. Everything was gone down to the grass in the yard. But we wanted to go back. We wanted to rebuild. This time, we were going to build a house that could withstand hurricane force winds and a powerful water surge. This is where our epic began. We knew we wanted to build a concrete house, but at the coast the homes have to be on stilts, so wouldn’t concrete be too heavy? We found out that there actually is a light-weight concrete that had survived hurricanes in other parts of the world. We wanted a flat roof so we could have a deck on top. The view would be spectacular. What could we use that would be strong enough without being too heavy? We found Litedeck.

Then, we wanted to build a green house. We discovered these products would be very energy efficient and green. Yeah! Our new house would be cheaper to build, energy efficient, good for the environment and very comfortable especially in the scorching Texas summer heat. Most importantly, it would have a very good chance of surviving another hurricane.

By now you can see where this is going. We thought that if we went through so much angst to find these products, other people probably would drown in research for their dream home. We decided to have a web page with products we believed in and offer them to others. So Get Kensho was born. Kensho means the process of becoming enlightened, and that is what we want our web page to do: help you in the process of being enlightened in building your green home.
